Stage two

From an online home to a first real place

Pardis is growing in stages. Virtual Pardis is the first: an online home for Persian poetry, language, art and gatherings, open to everyone.

Mini Pardis is the next goal. It is a first physical place, smaller than the full town, where people can gather in a Persian garden, bring their children to learn Farsi and calligraphy, and celebrate Nowruz and Yalda together. It would show, in practice, what Pardis can be.

Where things stand: Mini Pardis is at the concept stage. There is no site yet, and the ideas below describe the vision, not a final plan.
The idea

What Mini Pardis could include

The details will depend on the site, the community and its supporters. These are the elements at the heart of the idea.

How Pardis could look

Why start small

Prove the idea, grow the community

A smaller first place lets Pardis learn in practice: which programs bring families back, how people use the garden, which design ideas work in the local climate. Each stage stands on its own and makes the next one possible.

The road ahead

What it will take

Turning the idea into a place needs four things. Each is a way to help.

  1. Conceptual aerial plan of Pardis: a circular plaza ringed by lotus petalsConcept site planOne

    Land

The right site, within reach of Persian communities and with room for a garden.

  2. A modern home with a Persian-patterned facadeConcept imageTwo

    Design and planning

Architects, landscape designers and planners to shape the place and guide it through approvals.

  3. The pavilion of Eram Garden in ShirazInspiration: Eram GardenThree

    Founding supporters

People and organisations willing to back the first phase and help it get started.

  4. Reading Hafez on Yalda nightInspirationFour

    People and programs

Teachers, artists, hosts and volunteers to bring the place to life once it opens.
